Hi, I’m Becky! My Alaskan love story began when I was 12 yrs old. In 1968, our family built two log cabins on Chena Ridge, above Fairbanks. Later, we moved to Wasilla, where I graduated from high school, then went to work on the Alyeska Pipeline. That dates me, now doesn’t it?
I raised four children in Washington State, but during those years, I came back to visit Alaska often. When the kids left home, I found my “place” in Alaska. I guided hiking trips in Denali National Park, then kayak tours in the Kenai Fjords. In 2007, I was hired as a deck hand on a commercial fishing boat in Skagway, then met and married Jeff, who has lived in Skagway since 1986. We love the wilderness and have enjoyed exploring “Beyond Skagway” often. My interests are: camping, hiking, skiing, gardening.
Now, meet my son in law, Brian.
Hello, I’m Brian! I am a happy young man, with a love for all things Alaskan. I am married to Becky’s beautiful daughter, Meghan. Raised in Florida, I carry my passion for fishing everywhere I go. I love catching salmon in the Taiya Inlet, from my kayak and hiking up the massive mountains surrounding Skagway. Though I come from the flat country, I don’t hesitate to ski some of the steepest terrain that a winter in Alaska has to offer. With six years of guiding under my belt, I am working towards a Master’s Degree in geosciences. I am excited to give you a great tour!
I’ll now let Kate, my sister in law, introduce herself!
Hi, I’m Kate, Becky’s oldest daughter!
I split my time between the ski slopes in winter and playing on the water (in boats of course) during free time in the summer. 2013 marks my fourth summer in Skagway, fifth summer in Alaska, and I have two winters under my belt!
Although I have an Accounting Degree, I’ve found that raft guiding the Taiya River, near Skagway, has been more fun! I’m looking forward to taking to the Klondike Hwy with you next summer!
I enjoy getting out of town, while sharing our beautiful “backyard” with visitors. While I miss my oldest brother and his family in Washington State, I enjoy living close to and working with so much of my family up in the great north and am an Alaskan at heart!
Let me introduce my lil sis, Meghan to you now!
Hello, I am Meghan, the youngest of the family. I started coming to Alaska for seasonal jobs when I was 20 and fell in love immediately with the vast wilderness, the warm and loving people, the recreation and the adventure it offers. Since then I have spent 6 summers and 3 winters around the state. My main focus in life right now is my husband Brian and our son Levi James. Doing reservations for Beyond Skagway Tours enables me to work from home, so I can devote my time to raising my little boy! So thank you for choosing to spend you day in Skagway with us!
This tour business grew from our love of showing small groups what lies “Beyond Skagway”. We look forward to meeting you!
