Yesterday I was looking back at pictures of last summer’s garden, forward to next summer’s greens, all while enjoying today’s Enchilada/Pesto dinner! Today, I’m thinking about a good friend who just left Skagway. She moved to the foothills below Lake Tahoe. Not a bad place to move to, but I wonder if she’ll miss the winter whiteness of the places beyond Skagway where we used to explore on skis and snowshoes!
I know I’ll miss exploring them with her, as I venture out this winter. The snow is getting deeper at the pass and soon, I’ll be heading up there. Thanksgiving with Skagway family first; we invited anyone who wants to come spend the day with us. A few day’s later, my son will fly here from Washington State to spend the winter with us!
And although I’ll miss exploring the backcountry with my good friend, it will be exciting to have my son as backwoods companion this winter.
Yes, I will miss the Winter Whiteness but I will (and already do) miss the people who shared it with me so much more. xoxoxo
Karen has told me she is heading even further south, to a warm beach. Guess she isn’t missing the snow afterall!
